Mageean, Ingrid & Barrie Temple)
& Barrie are all from the Newcastle upon Tyne
area. They have all been singing for many years, and
perform maritime and traditional songs from all over
the world, songs from their native north-east, as
well as some songs written by Barrie.
& CAROLYN ROBSON
Carolyn have both been singing for many years.
They started performing together with Sarah Morgan
as Craig:Morgan:Robson. Following Sarah's untimely
death Moira and Carolyn have continued singing
together with a repertoire is mostly Scottish and
Northumbrian traditional songs. They also run
vocals, subtle accompaniments, lively tunes and a
broad range of predominantly traditional English
material that will have audiences laughing, weeping,
tapping their feet, and joining in the choruses.
Jack grew up
in the Holme Valley area of West Yorkshire, a place
steeped in a wealth of traditional song. He is a
highly respected folk singer, guitarist and
multi-instrumentalist, and has forged a successful
career playing music across the UK and Europe. He
also plays in the celebrated instrumental trio Moore
joining us this year in the role of M/C, but will
also get the opportunity to sing a song or three.
His involvement with folk music goes back over
30 years, and has a repertoire includes Shanties,
Traditional Love Songs, Mining Songs, Gospels,
Drinking and Music Hall Songs and some more recently
written contemporary songs.

his own unique style to all he does, whether it be
singing, writing, M/Cing or as an auctioneer!
lead the lunchtime sings in the Bell. She has an
easy style which encourages even the most timid
performer, whilst effortlessly building a session to
a rousing crescendo. Laughter & smiles abound in
the Big Sings.
& DEREK BURGESS
Derek are both fine singers and most genial hosts of
our Friday night singaround. Their voices blend
subtly and harmoniously together, as can be heard at
clubs and festivals up and down the country, and on
their CD, "The Sound of Singing"
Bill has 30
years experience and enjoyment of traditional music,
playing 5-string banjo, tenor banjo, guitar,
mandolin and melodeon (& probably too many other
instruments to mention!). Bill will host the Friday
night and Sunday lunchtime sessions.
